The lockdown will come into force on Tuesday, 17 November 2020 and will remain in force until 6 December 2020. The exit restrictions will initially expire on 26 November 2020, but may be extended.

The tightened curfew now applies from 0.00 to 24.00 hours (instead of 20.00 to 6.00 hours), there are exceptions:

► Averting an immediate danger to life, limb and property
► Care of and assistance to persons in need of support as well as exercising family rights and fulfilling family obligations
► Meeting the basic needs of daily life
► Professional purposes, if necessary
► For physical and mental recovery

  • One should spend time with those people with whom one lives in a common household. If you live alone, you should define a person with whom you want to keep personal contact during the lockdown.
  • Family gatherings are not allowed. Individual relatives, for example if they need support, are allowed.
  • Public places
    The basic rule is: In public places, all persons not living in their own household must be kept at a distance of one meter. When meeting in closed public places, keep one meter distance and wear a mouth and nose protector.
    Kindergartens and compulsory schools
    Switch to distance learning. Supervision and learning support available at the school location and in the kindergarten for those who need it.
  • Secondary schools and universities are operated by distance learning.
    Retail and services
  • The trade is closed. Exception is the covering of daily needs, e.g: Grocery stores, drugstores or pharmacies remain open. Services such as hairdressers, beauticians, beauticians, tattooists or masseurs are prohibited. Wholesale trade for tradesmen (B2B) (e.g. painters, plumbers, electricians etc.) may remain open.
    Workplace
  • Wherever possible, work should be done in the home office. At the workplace, a distance of one meter must be kept between people, unless there are other protective measures (plexiglass walls, etc.) If it is not possible to keep the distance and there are no other protective measures (partitions, plexiglass walls, fixed teams, etc.), it is necessary to wear a mouth and nose protector.
    Hospitals, nursing homes and homes for the disabled
    Employees must be tested weekly. Newly admitted residents must show a negative result of a corona test. Visitors must present a negative test result. Only one visitor per resident, per week.
  • Residents of homes for the disabled and residents in need of support may be visited by two persons (e.g. parents). Excluded from the one person/week rule is e.g. palliative or hospice care.
    Gastronomy
    Catering establishments are closed. Pick up is possible in the period from 06:00-19:00 o’clock. Delivery services are allowed without time limit. Pubs, bars, nightclubs are closed.
  • Hotels and lodging establishments are closed. There are exceptions, e.g. for business trips that cannot be postponed.
    Culture & Events
  • Events are prohibited (this includes cultural events, sporting events, wedding celebrations, birthday parties and Christmas markets).
  • Rehearsals and artistic performances without an audience for professional purposes are excluded.
    Sport and leisure
  • All contact sports (soccer etc.) are prohibited, sports facilities are closed for amateur athletes.
  • Top athletes and their coaches may enter sports facilities and practice their sport professionally or participate in international competitions.
  • It is prohibited to enter leisure facilities such as fitness studios, indoor swimming pools, museums, cinemas or zoos.
    Traffic
  • The formation of carpools and the use of cabs is only permitted if there are only two people per row of seats (including the driver). In addition, a mouth-and-nose protector must be worn. Exceptions are made for transports of kindergarten children or for transports of people with disabilities.
    Public transport
  • Public transport can be used. In public transport and at subway stations, bus stops, airports, etc., a mouth and nose protector must be worn and kept at a distance of one meter.
    Events for the practice of religion
    The practice of religion is permitted. The religious communities make their own rules to minimize the risk of infection, but in any case MNS must be worn inside.
  • Burials can be carried out with a maximum of 50 people, minimum distance rule and mouth and nose protection.
  • Weddings at the registry office are only possible in exceptional cases. Wedding ceremonies are prohibited.
